Empowering previously incarcerated women to flourish in their community!
To encourage a strong community of rehabilitated women by building restoration, reversing recidivism, and supporting resilience.
Ladies in Transition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women who are reintegrating into society after incarceration. We focus on providing the necessary support and resources to help them succeed. It is our greatest wish that we not only prepare these ladies for society, but also prepare a society who will accept and welcome them with open arms as they work toward self sufficiency and growth. Our goal is to collaborate with community leaders, citizens, and like minded organizations, who share our values and support our mission to see these ladies not only survive, but thrive in creating the new life they desire. Our intent is to prepare and propel women into the community who have the tools to maintain as world ready citizens having reduced recidivism rates, and increased sustainability in society.
Our tailored support programs address the specific needs of women transitioning from prison. By offering personalized services, we ensure that each woman receives the guidance necessary for her unique journey.
We work tirelessly to advocate for the rights and needs of women in transition. Raising awareness about the challenges they face is essential to fostering understanding and support in the community.

Jessica C Copeland is a mentor, minister, public speaker and avid volunteer, who dreamed up LIT INC in 2020 when volunteer opportunities became scarce. LIT (Ladies in Transition) was also established as a continuation of her late father's nonprofit organization PIT(People in Transition) He founded PIT in Tuskegee, AL in 1999 and later purchased a house for use of serving the community and named it "The P.I.T. Stop". Both organizations were founded on a love for people and a desire to be the hands and feet of God, helping individuals who were in transition and in need of a helping hand.
Your generous donations empower women transitioning from prison to rebuild their lives. By contributing, you provide essential support like job training and mentorship, helping them overcome challenges and reintegrate into society. Join us in making a difference!
